Gallego, Hagerty Reintroduce Bipartisan Bill Supporting Increased Use of Non-Lethal Weapons for Law Enforcement

Bill Backed by the Arizona Police Association WASHINGTON— Senators Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) and Bill Hagerty (R-TN)reintroduced the bipartisan Innovate to De-Escalate Modernization Act, legislation that would give law enforcement the resources they need to responsibly crack down on crime. Current law discourages law enforcement from utilizing important new less-than-lethal technologies, such as long-range tasers, by failing to clearly distinguish these devices from traditional firearms. ICYMI: Senator Gallego Puts Veterans First by Blocking VA Nominees Until Hack Job Firings are Reversed

WASHINGTON – Earlier this week, Senator Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) announced he will place a blanket hold on all nominations to the U.S. Department of Veterans’ Affairs (VA) following news of the Trump Administration’s plans to eliminate over 83,000 jobs from the Department with no explanation on how these firings will specifically occur.
